TEMANGGUNG, Central Java — A tragic incident occurred at the Posong Nature Tourism Area in Kledung District, Temanggung Regency, where four members of the same family were found dead inside a glamping tent on Wednesday (May 27, 2026).
The victims were discovered in Glamping Safari Tent No. 3, located in the Ndeles rice field area of Tlahap Village, Kledung District. Following the discovery, all four bodies were evacuated and transported to Temanggung Regional Hospital for examination and autopsy.
The victims were identified by their initials as MAM (52), M (43), AEH (17), and BAH (21). All were residents of Panjang Village, Ambarawa District, Semarang Regency.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Temanggung Police, I Komang Mahendra Deputra, said authorities immediately conducted a crime scene investigation after receiving reports of the deaths.
“The four victims were members of the same family who were visiting one of the tourist destinations in Temanggung Regency,” Komang told reporters at Temanggung Regional Hospital on Thursday (May 28, 2026).
According to police, the family arrived at the tourist site on Tuesday night (May 26) at approximately 10:00 p.m. local time. They had planned to stay overnight in the glamping area.
On Wednesday at around 11:45 a.m., tourism staff visited the tent to remind the guests about the check-out schedule, as the area was scheduled for cleaning. However, there was no response from inside the tent.
Growing suspicious, staff members returned to the tent at approximately 3:00 p.m. and opened the entrance. They then discovered the four occupants lying motionless inside.
“After the tent door was opened, the four victims were found already rigid at the scene,” Komang said.
Police have not yet determined the exact cause of death. Investigators and medical personnel are currently awaiting the results of the autopsy and forensic examinations to establish what led to the deaths of the family.
The case remains under investigation.
